Guests consistently highlight the generous portion sizes and reasonable prices, particularly noting the variety and quality of breakfast offerings such as omelettes, pancakes, and skillets. The Red Rooster Family Restaurant was a pleasant dining experience, with a relaxing country atmosphere and plenty of breakfast choices! The ham and cheese omelette was very good. One can have a choice of 2 buttermilk pancakes or toast (.49 extra for sourdough toast). The waffles were large and fluffy, with your choice of fruit, and were quite filling. We arrived at 9:30 a m. on a Saturday morning, and the place was busy, but not packed, which was surprising to some members of my party. Perhaps summer vacations accounted for a full house. Nevertheless, we didn't wait long to be seated, and the service was fairly prompt and the coffee was plentiful. Give this place a try. There are specials on the menu, and the large variety of eggs and pancakes will likely entice one to return often.
This is a restaurant that is worth going back to. The food is delicious but cheap and our waitress was really nice and professional. In fact, everyone that worked there seemed really nice. You get huge portions of food so it's definitely worth it. Overall, great place to eat.
A Hidden Gem in the Hills of Pennsylvania – Red Rooster If you’re looking for a cozy restaurant that combines charm, incredible food, and a touch of magic, Red Rooster is the place to be. Nestled in the hills of Pennsylvania, this small-town treasure is tucked away from the usual crowds, offering a serene and intimate dining experience. The interior decor immediately captures your heart. Floral wallpaper adorns the walls, perfectly complemented by rustic solid wood furniture. Soft country music plays in the background, while rooster-themed trinkets and pictures add a whimsical touch to the space. It’s no surprise to learn that the owner, Dabi, has lovingly run this place on her own for an impressive 37 years. Now, let’s talk about the food. I visited for breakfast, and the variety of omelets was truly impressive. The flavors were absolutely unforgettable! I opted for the Carolina omelet, filled with tender pork and gooey cheese. Paired with a cup of tea served in a charming retro teapot, the whole experience felt like something out of a delightful fairytale. The service was equally exceptional—warm, cheerful, and attentive. The staff seemed genuinely happy to answer every question with a smile and share little stories about the place, making the experience all the more special for curious diners like me. Red Rooster isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. Don’t miss it if you’re ever in the area!
Unique rooster decor. We were greeted and seated immediately. Great service and food. My wife had the Blue Berry Pancakes with Lemon Sauce and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Skillet breakfast which starts with a base of fried potatoes with onion and peppers, a layer of meat, I choose sausage, a layer of scrambled egg and then american cheese. Everything was hot and delicious.
I had ordered the South Street omelette with hot peppers, onion and potatoes for breakfast. Very delicious and nice portion for the price. The server was very polite and everything came out as ordered.
We went for breakfast before a hike at Ricketts Glen and I’m glad we did! Kennedy, our server, was excellent. Friendly and efficient. During the course of our meal, I had three coffee refills. Our order arrived correctly even though we changed our minds at the last minute and she didn’t write anything down. Food was tasty and filling - I had enough to take some home with me. Atmosphere was homey and comfortable and clean, and all of this came at a very reasonable price.
Cozy and clean little restaurant. Very quiet atmosphere - plenty of room between tables. Serves breakfast all day and offers an extensive menu for lunch and dinner. Waitress was sweet and attentive. We ordered the chili, crispy Chicken Salad , turkey club and fries - all freshly made. they were busy at 3pm on a Thursday which says alot about the food and staff. My hubby said the chili was really good and he liked his club sandwich. My fries were really good and the salad was fresh and big - no leftovers. We come through here a few times a year on our way to Towanda and will definitely stop again. Plus we only paid 34 for all the food and one beverage- I always get water. Enjoy.
This place is great. A nice country diner with a great atmosphere and even better staff. It's very cozy with tasty, affordable food. They're clearly understaffed, so sometimes service is a bit slow, but if you have the patience, it's definitely worth it. It's nothing fancy, but the food is great for the price. My boyfriend and I both eat here for less than 25 total - not each, TOTAL - which is almost impossible to do nowadays. Their breakfast options (which are available all day!) have especially incredible value. You can eggs or an omelette, pancakes, AND toast for less than 10. And these are some massive pancakes, too. I've been coming here for years with little to no issues. Would recommend to anyone.
